Show Your Stripes for a Cause with McDonald’s

From candy canes to Santa suits, red and white are a popular color combination around this time of year, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities are hoping to get some love and warm your toes at the same time with their new fashion-for-a-cause item. Beginning November 15, select McDonald’s stores in the Greater Manila Area started selling limited-edition red-and-white striped socks as part of their #ShowYourStripes campaign.

Each pair goes for P100, and all proceeds will go toward building daycare centers via the Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit program. For a list of stores selling the stripey socks, visit mcdonalds.com.ph/content/page/charity.

According to the folks at McDonalds, “Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit is one of the flagship programs of RMHC in the Philippines. It is in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and with Local Government Units that build daycare centers in communities that need it most. The Bahay Bulilit is a safe place for children to learn and play, free of charge, while their parents are at work.”

There are currently 25 Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit daycare centers in the country, with the latest one opening just recently in Tacloban, Leyte.

You can even get a pair for your guy so you’ll match, and if he’s not convinced he can pull off the look with style, show him this pic of UAAP basketball stars Jeric and Jeron Teng:

Then once you’ve styled your stripes to your satisfaction, post an OOTD (that’s outfit of the day) photo on Twitter and Instagram. Use the hashtag #ShowYourStripes and make sure you tag @McDo_PH!
